Gate Coating Compounds are formulated to insulate the entrance surface of the grid mold, and protect the molten lead alloys from temperature variations, from sticky lead drip lets which cause irreparable damage to grids, and from oxide build -up which causes an uneven flow of molten lead into a grid mold.

Mold Gate Compounds are shipped in semi-liquid form and have shelf life up to six months when kept at room temperature in their original packaging.
